CYM Information

Catholic Youth Ministries offers Parish-based sports programs for high school aged parish members.

Any student wishing to participate needs to be a parish member currently attending a Catholic high school or regularly attending parish youth ministry and religious education activities. Players living at home must play for the parish at which their parents are registered. Students should not choose to play on a CYM team for another parish, unless St. Sebastian does not have a team for the student. (pg. 4 -5 of the 2009 CYM Handbook at cymsports.com)

BASKETBALL: registration deadline is Nov. 10, 2009 (If this deadline poses a problem because you are waiting to hear if you made your high school team, please call Jill Schmid to discuss options.)

The basketball league runs Jan. through Feb. Games are scheduled on weekends. St. Seb’s gym will be used on Sat. nights for CYM basketball. We will need parent support to work the gym.

-High school basketball players are not eligible to play CYM basketball in the same year that they play high school ball.
-Teams are not co-ed and are divided into freshman/sophomore and junior/senior teams.

St. Sebastian will register as many teams as we have players for. It is critical that interested individuals register on time so that we can register the correct teams. Watch the parish bulletin for reminders as registration nears.

 If you would like to be on a Sebs basketball team, submit an individual registration form and $40(made payable to YAC) to the parish house attention CYM basketball, by November 10, 2009. If this deadline poses a problem because you are waiting to hear if you made your high school basketball team, please call Jill Schmid to discuss options. Fees include team registration and a jersey.
