Saint Coletta School

St. Coletta Day School of Milwaukee is a nonprofit, nonsectarian educational program, which has served children with cognitive disabilities since 1956. The program is financially independent and recieves no financial support from federal, state or local governments.

The mission of the school is: “To provide an academic curriculum designed to meet the special learning needs of each student that will help prepare the students to realize their full learning potential and to become productive and contributing citizens as adults.”

We strive to educate the child and the family in the areas of academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. And we do that one child at a time. At St. Coletta Day School of Milwaukee, learning counts.

In 1956 a partnership between St. Sebastian Parish and St. Coletta Day School was seeded. 50 years later, the collaboration has strengthened and continues to thrive. Within one building, St. Coletta Day School and St. Sebastian School co-exist and remain mutually beneficial. Sharing space within the school, St. Coletta Day School is able to develop a stronger program for its students with cognitive challenges. The students who attend St. Sebastian School are introduced to students whose academic learning style may be quite different from their own.

Together, the students in the two schools grow in covenant virtues of Peacemaking, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Kindness.

A strong partnership that developed its roots fifty years ago continues to grow and remains strong in their commitment to each other.
