In addition to our high academic standards in core curriculum, it’s the ‘extras’ that make the St. Sebastian experience an outstanding one for each student. St. Sebastian Parish School is proud to offer a full schedule of co-curricular specials for every grade. Our range of programs is evidence of our commitment to providing a well-rounded education. Dedicated parent volunteers who believe strongly in their role as participants in the education process both at home and at school facilitate our extended activities.
Class Trips
Throughout the year students in all grades participate in musical, theatrical, enviormental, and historical field trips.
In addition there is an annual travel-study program for students in 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, providing valuable opportunities to enrich classroom lessons with field experience.

Each year Ald. Murphy hosts 3rd graders from St. Sebastian School. The students, pictured here
in the Common Council Chamber, tour City Hall and learn how Milwaukee city government works.
Forensics
This state-champion team of dramatic and public speaking performers is open to the participation of any middle school student. Approximately one-third of the middle school participates each year in ten regional meets and the annual state tournament.
Foreign Language
After-school Spanish classes expand our students’ English language arts curriculum as well as their view of the world around them.
Lunch Bunch
Students enjoy choosing fun and educational alternatives to noon-hour recess, with activities, crafts, guest speakers, art projects and games.
Music
Students are instructed in band as well as in a middle school choir, middle school cantoring, and a children’s choir for grades 2 through 5.
Art
Pablo Picasso once said,“Every child is an artist. The problem is how toremain an artist oncehe grows up.”
Art is essential to learning-not just an educational frill. Learning about the visual arts gives students a window onto the rich and interesting world around them, teaching them about their own history and culture, as well as those of other people. It cultivates self-expression, imagination and creativity as well as critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
